PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for secure recording of so-called sensitive data, for instance an encryption key in a memory M of an electronic chip integrated system, in particular a chip card CP.;SOLUTION: The storage M comprises two physically separate memory features 1 and 2, for example, a ROM type fixed memory 1 and a reprogrammable EEPROM-type memory 2. The sensitive data is split into at least two parts (d) and (d'), in accordance with a specific logical configuration, and each of these parts is recorded in one of the separate memory features 1 and 2. A supplementary data for verification, check sum or hash data, can be additionally recorded in the first memory feature 1 simultaneously with the first part of sensitive data (d).
