PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a countermeasure system for loss of a portable information terminal which suppresses battery consumption of a lost terminal, and further, performs a countermeasure against loss corresponding to a battery residual quantity of the lost terminal.SOLUTION: A countermeasure system for loss of a portable information terminal comprises: a management terminal for transmitting an initial countermeasure instruction including a battery consumption suppressing operation and a complete deletion instruction for completely deleting data; and a lost terminal for performing the initial countermeasure by receiving the initial countermeasure instruction from the management terminal and completely deleting data by receiving the complete deletion instruction. The lost terminal transmits a battery residual quantity to the management terminal, and the management terminal selectively performs a countermeasure against loss corresponding to the battery residual quantity.
