PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure water depth even at a location distant from the edge of the water.;SOLUTION: A water depth measuring apparatus 10 is provided with: a rod 11; a take-up member 14 mounted to a vicinity of one end of the rod 11; a measure 15 to be let out from the take-up member 14, guided along the rod 11, and droop from the tip of the rod 11 and having a surface displaying a scale for indicating the distance from the tip to which a weight 16 is mounted; and the weight 16 mounted to the tip of the measure 15. The rod 11 of the water depth measuring apparatus 10 is extended, until its tip reaches a location to be measured, and the measure 15 is extended by the take-up member 14, until the weight 16 reaches the bottom of the water to read the scale of the measure 15 at the height of the water surface.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
