Wireless digital transmission of surround channels and low-frequency effect of surround sound system

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless surround sound speaker capable of improving difficulty in installation and sound quality.;SOLUTION: A subwoofer 72 comprises a wireless receiver 80 to receive a signal including information about a low frequency effect (LFE) channel and information about both surround channels. The subwoofer 72 utilizes the LFE channel, powers surround speakers 74, 76, and passes the surround signals to the respective surround speakers 74, 76. A receiver 66 multiplexes the LFE signal on one or both surround sound audio channels. A digital RF transmitter 70 of the receiver 66 transmits the combined subwoofer/surround channel to the wireless receiver 80 of the subwoofer 72. The remote subwoofer 72 is connected to a power source 78. The surround speakers 74, 76 are connected to the subwoofer 72 so as to receive the surround channel and be powered thereby.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
