METHOD FOR COMMUNICATION IN A COMPUTER-READY ENERGY SYSTEM, SYSTEM AND ENERGY NETWORK. A free-to-scale communication network in a power grid is provided. The free-range communication network comprises a plurality of distribution devices coupled in communication with one another in a power network including a protection device and a controller coupled to each of the plurality of distribution devices in the power network. The controller identifies a plurality of isolated distribution devices. The controller further restores the plurality of isolated distribution devices in the power grid by automatically activating the interconnect switch in the power grid. The controller also computes the reliability indicators for each of the restored distribution devices in the power grid. In addition, the controller identifies critical distribution devices in the power grid based on the computed reliability indicators and establishes a free-to-scale communications network within the power grid based on the identified critical distribution devices.
