A MIMO communication system having deterministic communication paths, wherein, MIMO is adapted to line-of-sight communication paths having a fixed geometrical positional relationship so as to increase the communication path capacity. A line-of-sight MIMO communication system having a plurality of transmission paths comprises a communication path matrix arithmetic processing part at a transmitting or receiving end or each of the transmitting and receiving ends. The communication path matrix arithmetic processing part updates an orthogonal transmission path formation matrix in accordance with a positional variation of a transmission antenna or reception antenna or a variation of the transmission paths.
