There is disclosed a cutting device (1) for separating a pelt from a furred animals body at the end of the skinning of fur animal, where the cutting device (1) comprises a cutting unit (2) having at least a first driven cutting means (3) and drive means for driving the first driven cutting means (2), wherein the drive means are arranged in a base unit (7), and wherein the base unit (7) and the cutting unit (2) each comprise connection means (11, 12, 13, 14, 16) which are adapted to cooperate to to allow for the interconnection, as well as switching off the base unit (7) and the cutting unit (2). Further disclosed is a cutting unit (2), a set consisting of a cutting device (1) with several cutting units (2) as well as the use of a cutting device (1) for separating a pelt from a furred animals body at the end of the skinning of fur animal.
