The invention relates to the chemistry of fragrances and to the field of perfumery. More specifically, the invention relates to compounds with a woody note, having general formula (I), in which: - the ring with 6 carbon atoms is saturated or has a double bond between the C1 and C2 carbons or between the C1 and C6 carbons, and - R is chosen from a Csub2/sub-Csub5/sub alkyl or Csub2/sub-Csub5/sub alkenyl group.
