587780 Disclosed is an inductive power transfer pick-up circuit for receiving power from a primary conductor at a selected operating frequency. The circuit includes a pick-up coil (L2), a compensation capacitor (C2), a switch means (S1 and S2) and a plurality of additional reactive components (L3, C3). The switch means (S1 and S2) is controllable between an operable state and an inoperable state. When the switch means (S1 and S2) is in one of the operable or inoperable states the additional reactive elements (L3, C3) are resonant at the selected operating frequency to substantially reduce or prevent power being supplied to an output (Vo,AC) of the pick-up circuit.
