A method for the identification of non-linear diffusers by phase synchronization of non-linear products of response signal at multi-harmonic sounding includes emission of sounding signals in direction to non-linear diffuser, reception and registration of non-linear products as response signal. To identify non-linear diffusers one uses effect of change of the value of phase deviation of response signal that differs by the value for phase deviation of non-linear products with the same frequency, but different nature of origin multiple harmonics and combinatory frequency, at variation by saw-tooth law or some other one of the level of power of electromagnetic field formed simultaneously by current mono-harmonic and bi-harmonic sounding signals or three mono-harmonic sounding signals.
