A method for diagnosing the structural rearrangement of the myocardium in the patients with arterial hypertension based on analysis of gene polymorphism provides for clinical and instrumental examination (ECG and EchoCG). I/D polymorphism of ACE gene and T894G polymorphism of eNOS are studied. The patients with arterial hypertension who are carriers of D allele of ACE and T allele of eNOS are considered at high risk of development of eccentric or concentric models of the hypertrophy of the left ventricle that is associated with more severe clinical course and worse prognosis.
