METHOD FOR SELECTING PARENT PLANTS FOR BREEDING AND PRIMARY LINKS OF SEED PRODUCTION

A method for selecting healthy parent plants for breeding and first links of seed production comprises labelling hybrid biotypes, selecting ears at the complete ripeness stage and determining an index of net productivity of photosynthesis. At first, parent plants without marker characters, that is without change in green colour of leaves, stems, ears, are selected in crops. Laboratory analysis is conducted, according thereto the selected plants are grouped according to the height and productive tillering (the number of ears), The group of plants most typical for the variety is taken as control ones at measurements of internodes and ears. The remaining plants are compared with the control ones and the results are assessed in percents, the process of determining is finished by threshing a parent family of seeds, calculated, weighed and the weight of 1000 kernels is determined and at weight lesser than seeds are rejected, that is for sowing at the primary links of seed production and breeding are not taken.
