METHOD FOR CORRECTION OF VESTIBULAR OROANTRAL FISTULA IN DISTAL PART OF MAXILLA WITH LACKING MOLARS BY SINGLE STEP MAXILLARY SINUSOTOMY

A method for correction of vestibular oroantral fistula in the distal part of maxilla with lacking molars by single step maxillary sinusotomy provides for tailoring and separation of mucosal-periosteal trapezoid flap, the dissection of the area of altered mucosa with the fistula, the mobilization and suturing of the flap. The mucosal-periosteal trapezoid flap is generated by two vertical incisions at the angle of 45º. The first incision is made distally to oroantral fistula. The second incision is made just after the last spared tooth in the dentition on the same side. Then the horizontal incision over the ridge of the alveolar process of maxilla is made to combine two vertical incisions. The generated trapezoid flap is separated. The area of altered mucosa with the fistula is dissected in the shape of isosceles triangle with its apex being the lower angle of trapezium. The maxillary sinusotomy is provided. The periosteum is cut horizontally at the base of trapezoid flap. The mobilized flap is displaced distally and sutured following its adaptation. The sutures are removed on the 10th day.
