METHOD FOR ASSESSING MATCH BETWEEN SIZE OF FETAL LUNG AND GESTATION TERM

A fetus and biometry of the lungs with calculation of pulmonary-femoral index for right and left lungs (ratio of anterior-posterior size of the lung to the length of femur). The indices calculated are compared with parameters of normogram. When the index is inferior to the threshold one (0.77 for the right lung and 0.61 for the left lung), the preliminary diagnosis of lung hypoplasia is suggested.
