A method for converter melting comprises batch filling, bath lancing through a top lance, which is moved in the vertical direction, and laying on the melt in the blowing period of low voltage electric potential, which is carried out by a circuit comprising a current source, connecting cables, body of insulated lance, conductive refractory lining of the converter. Moving of the lance is carried out in terms of degree of brightness of two light indicators with two different electrical resistances arranged in addition to the basic circuit, at that the primary lowering of the lance after ignition of the melting and formation of the primary slag from the top to the operating position is carried out until the degree of alignment of brightness of both indicators and next moving of the lance in the upper and lower directions to the desired height is carried out for the maintaining the same brightness of indicators to the finish of blowing and stopping the current supply for applying electrical potential.
