The invention relates to a laser receiving apparatus based on an avalanche photodiode thermally regulated with embedded control, intended to receive modulated laser beams in binary format, comprising an avalanche photodiode (2) that is subjected to three control loops regulated by a microcontroller (48), namely: a thermal control loop for maintaining the temperature of the avalanche photodiode (2) stable, a loop for controlling the sensitivity of the photodiode for maintaining the photosensitivity of the avalanche photodiode (2) stable, and a gain control loop RMS for controlling the gain and maintaining the stability of the signal originating from the avalanche photodiode (2). The invention is suitable for laser-based optical communications.
