An applicator for a feminine hygiene device comprising: an inserter; insertion member having an insertion end, one end opposite the insertion end and a cylindrical region which is adapted to accommodate a feminine hygiene device extraction; the cylindrical region between the insertion end and the withdrawal end being arranged and having an outer surface; and an area of polymer film with micro-holes in the outer surface of the cylindrical region; wherein the polymeric film comprises micro-holes spaced projections extending from the flat surface of the film, having the ends projecting distal and open proximal portions open in the flat opposite the distal ends open surface.
