System and method of loss reduction in parallel transformer systems in distribution centers. The method comprises: - measuring the total load power SL of the parallel transformers (10, 10 ') of the distribution center; - comparing said load value SL with an optimization power value (5) obtained as a function of the total transforming power SN of the parallel transformers (10, 10 '); - select a transformer connection configuration (10, 10 ') determined according to said comparison; - change to the selected connection configuration, in case it does not match the active connection configuration. Applicable for centers where the use of electric energy is very variable (industrial estates, shopping centers, educational centers, seasonal tourist centers, etc.).
