A photovoltaic device comprising: a glass substrate based soda lime silica (1); a semiconductor film; a substantially transparent conductive front electrode pyrolytic (3) comprising tin oxide provided between at least the glass substrate (1) and the semiconductor film; and wherein a surface of the glass substrate based on soda lime silica (1), on which the front electrode pyrolytic comprising tin oxide is provided, is textured to have a textured surface (1a) with an average surface roughness about 1 to 500 uM, and characterized in that said texturing is obtained by using at least one roller at or shortly after a tin plating bath used in the manufacture of the glass substrate for texturing the surface, to cause a prismatic pattern It comprising a feature density of at least ten characters per cm2.
