The method involves making two transversal cuts on an extruded terra cotta unit (5), where the distance between the transversal cuts formed on the unit is equal to a length of a green product (8) to be obtained. The cut at a free end of the unit is provided with, between the unit and end, a footing (18) supporting the product during handling and drying phases. An independent claim is also included for a device for manufacturing terra cotta unit based on a terra cotta manufacturing method.
