System and method for data quality management and control of heterogeneousdatasystems. In a preferred embodiment, the system functions as a resourcemanagement tool that simplifies the process of managing data systems. Morespecifically, the system provides connections to source data systems, allowsusers toview data structures and enables simple management and manipulation of datacontained within possibly heterogenous data systems. The system utilizes anadvanced graphical user interface, which allows users to access and managesystems using a simple point and click methodology. The system uses portals(16),which are tools that collect, visualize, analyze and directly edit data setsassociatedwith different data sources. In another aspect, the system keeps track of itsoperational status (10), allowing users to automatically reproduce in onelogonsession work done in the previous session, without the need to replicate dataanalysis. Various additional features of the system and methods are disclosedandillustrated.
