The invention relates to a method for pilot assistance for the landing of anaircraft inrestricted visibility, with the position of the landing point being defined bymeans of amotion-compensated, aircraft-based helmet sight system during the landingapproach, and with the landing point being displayed on a ground surface inthehelmet sight system by the production of symbols which conform with theoutsideview. According to the invention, the production or calculation of the groundsurfaceis based on measurement data, produced during the approach, from anaircraft-based 3D sensor, with both the production of the 3D measurement dataofthe ground surface and the definition of the landing point being provided withreference to the same aircraft-fixed coordinate system.
