The invention relates to an aerodynamic profiled element for generating powerby means of a tractive force, especially for driving watercraft. Said profiledelement comprises a flexible top layer that extends in a transversal directionand a longitudinal direction, a flexible bottom layer which extends parallelto the top layer and is connected to the top layer by means of several webs that runin a downward direction of the profiled element, an air-filled interior spacebetween the top and the bottom layer, at least one ventilation hole for ventilatingthe interior space, said at least one ventilation hole being disposed betweentwo parallel forward edges of the top and bottom layer, several traction lines,a first end of which is fastened to the profiled element at spaced-apart pointsand a second end of which is connected to a traction rope for connecting the profiledelement to a watercraft, and several reefing lines, a first end of which is attachedto the layers and/or webs. Said reefing lines are embodied so as to reduce or increasethe size of the profiled element by reefing or unreefing the top and bottom layer.The profiled element is extended by a rod element which runs in the longitudinaldirection of the profiled element and is used for stabilizing the aerodynamicprofile. Said rod element is fastened to the top and/or bottom layer and/or a web.At least one of the reefing lines is deflected on the rod element from a reefingline section that extends from the fastening point at the first end in the transversaldirection of the profiled element of the top or bottom layer into a reefing linesection extending in the longitudinal direction.
