A method for sensing time slot length optimization based on state transfer probability estimation includes the following steps: at the beginning of the sensing time slot of a sensing period, a cognition wireless network centre base station transmits the sensing channel set that needs to be sensed cooperatively and the sensing time of each authorized channel in the set to cognition users in time τa; the cognition users perform the cooperative sensing for the authorized channels in time τs, and transmit the sensing results to the base station in time τb; the base station performs merging for the sensing results, and transmits the merging results to the cognition users in time τc; after the sensing time slot ends, the base station estimates the useable probability of each authorized channel in next sensing period using the residual time T-τ, and chooses the channel set that needs to be sensed cooperatively by the cognition wireless network in the next sensing period and the sensing time of each authorized channel in the set, and transmits the set and the sensing time to the cognition users at the beginning of the next sensing period. The present invention can optimize the sensing time slot length of the cognition wireless network in each sensing period, and improve the throughput of the system.
