Disclosed is a machine tool for a spiral bevel gear, which comprises a machine tool body, a column, a horizontal slipping table, and a cutting tool box, wherein the column is provided with a U shaped through groove with the opening thereof facing downwards and is mounted on the machine tool body, with the width direction, the depth direction and the thickness direction of the U shaped through groove being defined respectively as the Y axis, the Z axis and the X axis of a spatial orthogonal Cartesian coordinate system; the U shaped through groove is provided therein with a first linear drive shaft, which drives a first rotating shaft box body into a linear movement along the direction of the X axis; the column is provided thereon with a second linear drive shaft, which drives the horizontal slipping table into a linear movement along the direction of the Y axis; the horizontal slipping table is provided thereon with a third linear drive shaft, which drives the cutting tool box into a linear movement along the direction of the Z axis. The present invention is compact in structure, cheap to manufacture, stable and reliable in performance, occupies a small area, and has a good machine tool rigidity; it also makes chip removal convenient and makes dry machining easier to achieve; and it comes with fewer parts in the entire machine, with good processing performance and is suitable for industrial production.
