The present invention relates to an aquarium having an upper-story separate chamber and an auxiliary aquarium carrying out the same, and the invention comprises: aquarium bodies (11, 21, 31, 41) provided as top-opening bodies for containing fish therein; and upper-story separate chambers (12, 22, 32, 42), that is, auxiliary aquariums (50), which are bodies positioned on the upper part of the aquarium bodies (11, 21, 31, 41) and have at least one hole including, on a lower end thereof, a hole (F) for enabling fish to move in and out therethrough, wherein an uppermost hole (T) or more has an airtight structure. Thus, the invention enables: a new aesthetic sense or curiosity to be aroused whenever fish move between the aquarium bodies and the upper-story separate chambers when compared to existing simple aquarium shapes; and further, in terms of the advanced technology related to water purification for the aquarium, the laborious work of changing the water for the whole aquarium can be eliminated since water can be supplemented by frequently removing only the said upper-story separate chambers.
