Automation components for an industrial automation arrangement and method for activating an operating status

The component (TP1) has a standard protocol for providing a reserved bit in a data word for operating conditions e.g. partial and full-load conditions of the component. A data interface receives a request about change-over between the operating conditions, and outputs an acknowledgment message as a response for the request. The interface outputs a status message about activation of the operating conditions. The operating conditions are alternately adjustable for controlling a production system, processes and sub-processes of an industrial automation arrangement. An independent claim is also included for a method for activating an operating condition of an automation component.
