The tissue-simulation device of the present invention was created ex profeso for use in learning, training and assessment, principally in connection with the basic techniques of surgery and in particular laparoscopic, endoscopic or minimally-invasive surgery, and the use of specialist instruments, which comprises a variety of modules or components that can be assembled in different configurations with a view to setting up or assembling the various specific workstations for carrying out the diverse practical exercises such as cutting, manipulating articles, forming suture stitches and surgical knots, and other exercises, and it is characterized in that it is made from a semi-soft, semi-rigid and semi-elastic plastics material that can be washed, is lightweight, non-toxic, recyclable and environmentally friendly. The device is further characterized in that the parts thereof, in the different configurations, can be set up or dismantled as many times as required, allows the incorporation of other synthetic or biological elements and can be incorporated into any training box model for endoscopic surgery produced on an industrial or non-industrial scale, and lends itself to practice with new instruments, techniques and systems as an introduction to endoscopic surgery.
