The invention relates to a system that is designed to allow the bogies of a train to be adapted to different track gauges, said system including a series of bogies, each formed by two half-bogies (1 or 1') that can be moved in relation to one another via side sleepers (2 or 2') and a central sleeper (3 or 3'), said movement being adjusted or locked by means of bolt mechanisms (4 or 4') disposed on the side sleepers (2') and the central sleeper (3'), the half-axles (5') of each of the half-bogies (1 or 1') being independent. The system also includes a gauge-changing platform including bed plates (14 or 14') that can move sideways, provided with means for opening (9 or 9') and closing (16 or 16') the gauge of the bogie, actuated by means of electric reversible screws. The system further includes bogie-supporting carriages (10 or 10') that can be moved along the length of a pitted track (13 or 13'), said bogie-supporting carriages (10 or 10') each being provided with an end-plate (12 or 12') that is used to lift the transported load, during the adjustment operations, so that the gauge-opening and -closing means are not subjected to enormous stresses, as well as being used to pull said bogie until the following bogie accesses the gauge-changing platform.
