The present invention provides a method, apparatus and a computer program product for cross-layer design for mobile video. The present invention includes receiving, at a network entity, an encoded video stream, converting the received video stream to soft samples to be transmitted on the OFDM based radio interface and transmitting the converted video stream wireless to user equipment.
