The method involves generating an initial allocation table (7) of individual terms and/or phrases in a source document (1) and the corresponding translation from the database (4). The proofread allocation table (9) is compared with allocation table after proofreading of translations, to determine changes in allocation table. The changes are adapted to individual terms and/or phrases in proofread allocation table. The changes in proofread allocation table are rewritten (11) in database by overwriting the proofread terms and/or phrases in the database. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) system for computerized implementation of editing process during preparation of translation of text from source language into target language.
