An instrument configured to prepare a penis for implantation of a penile prosthetic includes a rigid shaft (22) extending between a proximal end and a distal end that is insertable into the penis, and an expandable member (26) coupled to a distal end portion of the shaft. The expandable member is movable between a first position having a first diameter that is substantially equal to a diameter of the rigid shaft and a second position having a second diameter that is larger than the diameter of the rigid shaft and configured to dilate tissue of the penis.
