The present invention relates to a method for temperature control in a rolling mill for production of preliminary strip comprising the steps: determining sections of reduced temperature in the preliminary strip and selective addition of heat energy to the sections of reduced temperature of the preliminary strip. The present invention further relates to a device for temperature control in a rolling mill.
