The current invention relates to an apparatus for performing a centrifugal field-flow fractionation. A field-flow fractionation channel is disposed on a holder which is releasably attachable to the inner circumference of a rim of a rotor, the holder having a shape of an annulus comprising an interrupted segment. A wedge (18) which is configured to be inserted into the interrupted segment and which is wedged into the interrupted segment so as to force the holder and the channel against the inner circumference of the rim is comprised within the apparatus. The wedge has a pair of generally opposed surfaces (94) which are oriented with respect to each other so that in the inserted position of the wedge, both surfaces extend along the radial direction of the holder and are inclined relative to the axial direction of the annulus defining the holder.
