PULSED-GAS BASED AGITATION DEVICE AND METHOD FOR METAL MELTING POOL

A pulsed-gas based agitation device for a metal melting pool (1) comprises at least one breathable component (3) disposed at the bottom of an electric furnace (2) and a device for supplying an agitating gas (4) and connected to the breathable component (3). The device for supplying the agitating gas (4) comprises a gas supply pipeline system (9) and a main pipeline disposed to be corresponding to the breathable component (3) in a one-to-one manner. The main pipeline is connected to the breathable component (3) and the gas supply pipeline system (9). A main control valve (8) is disposed on the main pipeline. The main pipeline is further provided with a dither generator (5). The dither generator (5) comprises a fast shut-off valve (5a) and a normally-open channel connected in parallel with the fast shut-off valve (5a). Also provided is a pulsed-gas based agitation method for a metal melting pool, comprising: an uninterrupted gas passing through the normally-open channel and a pulsed-gas passing through the fast shut-off valve (5a) converging to form an agitating gas (4); the agitating gas (4) passing through the breathable component (3) to enter the metal melting pool (1). The minimum flow of the uninterrupted gas is greater than or equal to the minimum ventilation preventing the breathable component (3) from being clogged. The flow of the pulsed-gas fluctuates regularly.
