The present invention relates to the use of an acellular empirical medium for culturing a given intracellular bacterium, able to be grown by cell culture in a given eukaryotic cell type, characterized in that said empirical medium comprises an aqueous suspension of a cell lysate consisting of a cytoplasmic juice comprising the endoplasmic content of said eukaryotic cells of a given type and the components and residues of said cell lysate which are as a dispersion or soluble in the cytosolic juice, preferably having sizes of less than 10 µm, more preferably less than 5 µm.
