The axial fan (1) has a motor which comprises several blades (4) that move a gaseous medium in main flow direction (S) from inlet side (E) to outlet side (A). A rotation-symmetric flow guiding element (5) has an outer diameter (D5) that is greater than the outer diameter (D2) of stator hub (2a) of stator (2), and is greater than the outer diameter (D3) of rotor (3), and smaller than the diameter (D4) of perimeter (U4) of blades. The guiding element is mounted around the blades on the outlet side directly or indirectly on the stator and concentrically with respect to the stator hub.
