Disclosed is a foreign-language study system comprising: an expression unit; a communication unit; a storage unit able to store vocabulary or sentence data; a controller which compares a communication message consisting of a first language, received via the communication unit, with the vocabulary or sentence data stored in the storage unit so as to find a vocabulary item or sentence in a second language, and which simultaneously displays or sequentially displays the communication message and the vocabulary item or sentence in the second language on the expression unit; and an operating program. Also disclosed is a method for providing foreign-language study by using the foreign-language study system.
