SYSTEM FOR MONITORING DRUG COMPLIANCE USING HIGH RESOLUTION FORCE SENSING

The goal of the invention described in this document is to provide a portable drug compliance system with the following capabilities : i) Alerting patients to take their medication. ii) Monitoring the amount of medication that has been consumed by the patient. iii) Warning patients of an accidental overdose of medication. iv) Automatic re-ordering medicines before they run out. This goal is realized by a) measuring the weight of the medication remaining in a medication container by a force sensor with sub- milliNewton resolution and by b) control electronics (720) for transmitting an alert.
