The folding box (30) has a base, two side walls hinged at the base, and front walls which connect the side walls with each other. The connection lugs are hinged at the front walls or the side walls. The folding box is formed of cardboard. The cardboard blank is provided with a plastic coating on the side forming the interior of the folding box. Polypropylene or other polymer, particularly bio- polymer is provided as coating. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a blank of cardboard for manufacturing a folding box; and (2) a method for forming a folding box.
