The method involves performing a deposit positioning of a stratigraphic unit (2), and determining a position of mesh nodes of the unit at the time of deposition of a reference surface. An isometric unfolding of the reference surface is carried out, and rotation and translation are applied to the unfolded surface to obtain a superposition of the unfolded surface with the reference surface. A regular Cartesian grid is superimposed (4) on the stratigraphic unit, and a value of characteristic of a formation property is assigned to each mesh cell, where the assigned values are reported.
