This activated carbon for an electrode of a power storage device has uniform communication macropores, a pore size distribution centered in the range of 1.5 to 25 μm, a specific surface area in the range of 1500 to 2300 m2/g, a micropore volume in the range of 0.4 to 1.0 ml/g, and an average micropore width in the range of 0.7 to 1.2 nm. There is provided an activated carbon for an electrode of a power storage device having a high capacitance in relation to charging/discharging at a high current density and suitable for an electric double layer capacitor having excellent durability against high-voltage charging of 3V or more and a lithium-ion capacitor having excellent durability against high-voltage charging of 4V or more.
