The invention relates to a method for measuring the form of at least one section of an object by projecting a pattern onto the section and portraying on a sensor the pattern projected back. In order to accurately measure the at least one section of the object with constructively simple actions, the invention proposes that the pattern projected back onto the sensor is analysed on the basis of the light field principle.
