The mold (1) has mold segments (2) with inner-sided mold surfaces (3) for forming a vehicle tire (4) to be pressed. The segments include cylindrical exhaust unit in connection with an atmosphere. Air is outwardly diverted from a mold cavity (6) by the segments via the exhaust unit. A mold surface of the segments forming a tread profile of the tire has projecting bars with bar flanks. The bars form grooves of a vehicle tire tread and define protruding profile elements of the tread. The exhaust unit is arranged within the bar such that the unit opens out in the cavity in an area of the flanks.
