Method for asynchronous-serial data transfer over a synchronous-serial interface

The method involves constructing a serial peripheral interface (11) as a synchronous serial interface with a data line (12). The data line is connected to asynchronous serial data input (22) of a universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter (UART) interface (21). A data word with data bits to be transmitted by data transmitting device (10) e.g. microcomputer in order to generate a format with frame bits corresponding to asynchronous data format is supplemented. The supplemented data word with frame bits is stored in a transmitting register for transmission to a data receiving device (20). An independent claim is included for a system for unidirectional asynchronous serial data transmission in transmitter-receiver arrangement.
