Method for segmenting a document using the segmentation of a reference document and associated appliance

The method involves correlating images of a reference version of an audiovisual document and images from a different version of the document to determine identity between the images of the reference version and the other version. Segments in continuous images of the other version of the document are cut, where images of a segment of the reference version of the document are identical to one segment of the other version of the document. Identifiers of the segments of the reference version of the document are assigned to the segments corresponding to the other version of the document. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for processing a multimedia document.
