The device (1) has a storage shaft (10) for receiving and passing finite fibers. A combing roller (11) combs the fibers from the storage shaft. A conveying channel (13) is attached downstream of the combing roller in a conveying direction (12) of the fibers. A pressurized air injector (14) is arranged at the conveying channel. A feed roller (19) to a carding device (15) is provided downstream of the conveying channel in the conveying direction of the fibers. The carding device includes an air opening (16) and walls (17, 18), which are increasingly quickly rotated in the conveying direction. An independent claim is also included for a method for treatment of finite filter fibers for formation of a fiber strand for a tobacco processing industry.
