PURPOSE: A system and method for treating the water shortages in a water dispenser are provided for users to easily confirm the water shortage using personal terminals.;CONSTITUTION: A system for treating the water shortages in a water dispenser(11) comprises a service system(12), and an individual terminal(13). The water dispenser comprises a sensor unit(14) and a control unit(16). The control unit transmits the ID number of the system to the service system. The service system is connected to the control unit, and delivers the information on the water shortage by extracting the information about the individual terminal from the database.
