PURPOSE: An engine control method using a vehicle engine control system is provided to compensate the shortage of engine power as the engine rotates even when drivers do not step on an accelerator additionally.;CONSTITUTION: An engine control system(100) comprises a unit(120) for recognizing driver acceleration intention, a unit(130) for calculating a torque correction coefficient, a required torque calculating unit(140), and an engine control unit(150). The unit for recognizing driver acceleration intention recognizes the pressure that a driver pushes an accelerator pedal, and outputs the driver demanded torque value corresponding to the pressure. The unit for calculating a torque correction coefficient calculates the driver demanded torque value corrected according to the increase in a vehicle weight.
