MEDIUM FOR IDENTIFYING ENTEROCOCCI AND A METHOD FOR TESTING ENTEROCOCCI USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A medium for identifying Enterococci and a method for testing Enterococci using the same are provided to quickly increase and determine Vancomycin resistant enterococci.;CONSTITUTION: A medium(100) for identifying Enterococci is prepared by mixing distilled water to a composition for detecting Enterococci with Vancomycin resistance. The composition contains casein, digestive fluid powder of animal tissue, yeast extract powder, oxgal, sodium chloride, esculin, ferric ammonium citrate, sodium azide, and sodium citrate. The composition further contains Vancomycin. A method for testing Enterococci using the medium comprises: a step of collecting Enterococci from a patient's body; a step of suspending the Enterococci in the medium and culturing the medium at 33-37 deg.C.; and a step of observing color change of the medium and identifying Enterococci.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
